Dear Hawaii SNA Members:
We hope you and your family are doing well during these stressful and challenging times.
As you know, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the state and the Department of Education will be facing budget cuts in the future. We have recently been informed that the School Food Services Branch will no longer be able to pay for your School District Owned (SDO) membership for this upcoming school year. If you choose to remain an SNA member, you will need to renew your membership as an individual.
Although the membership period began on June 1st, SNA has given us a “grace period” to adjust to the change. The cost for individual membership is $51 for cafeteria workers and $53 for School Food Service Managers.
There are two ways to renew your membership:
- By Mail: Download a printable Hawaii SNA application found at https://schoolnutrition.org/Membership/StateMembershipApps/
or https://hawaiisna.org. Complete the form and mail in with a check.
- Click on the orange-colored Join or Renew Button
- Click on the appropriate membership category (Employee or Manager)
- Follow the directions carefully to charge by credit card
We hope that you have found value in your SNA membership and will continue to be an ACTIVE member of our School Nutrition Association. Hawaii SNA is fighting alongside other state associations to assure that child nutrition will always be one of our nation’s highest priorities as we continue to serve children during school and out-of-school, rain or shine, during good times and bad. We don’t know when things will get back to normal, but let’s continue to work together to feed our keiki the best way that we can.
Please don’t hesitate to call Marlow DeRego at (808) 398-7423 or email her at email@example.com if you have any questions at all.
Mahalo and aloha,
Curtis Haida, Hawaii SNA President
